About ME

Jessica Sander

My name is Jessica Sander, and I hold a BA honors degree in psychology from the University of Johannesburg, obtained in 2016. I subsequently pursued my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counselling from California State University, San Bernardino, which I completed in 2022. As a certified rehabilitation counsellor in the state of California, I have gained valuable experience through my internships and work at the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), a state agency dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and chronic illness.

I have a disability myself, which has profoundly shaped my perspective and career aspirations. My personal experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. This insight has fueled my passion for becoming a therapist, as I believe that while I may not be able to provide physical assistance, I can offer invaluable emotional support.

My journey into rehabilitation counseling was driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I understand the importance of having someone who truly listens and empathizes with your struggles. This motivates me to continue my work, knowing that I can help others navigate their own paths to resilience and empowerment.

Every day, I am inspired by the strength and determination of my clients. Their progress and achievements remind me of the impact that emotional support and guidance can have. It is this sense of purpose and the opportunity to contribute positively to others’ lives that keeps me dedicated to my profession.
